July 17, 2017
The scheduled closing of the Lenoxville Road bridge over I-81 in Lenox Township, Susquehanna County, has been postponed. It was previously scheduled to begin during the week of July 17.
The bridge is now scheduled to close during the week of July 24 and be
complete in early November. During this time, all motorists will be directed to follow a detour along State Route 2035, State Route 2037 and High Bridge Road.
Motorists can expect nighttime closures of I-81 southbound and northbound from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. so crews can perform demolition work and for placement of beams. During this time, motorists will be detoured on I-81 to Route 374 and Route 92.
A travel advisory with more details on the timing of I-81 northbound and southbound nighttime detours will be sent closer to the closure dates.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-154 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
