More construction is set to get under way in several counties around the state.

Susquehanna Week of July 6

In Clifford Township, drivers will see the Creamery Road (SR 2008) bridge closed where it crosses Dundaff Creek. The bridge was originally built in 1951 and averages 117 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all Creamery Road traffic will detour to Hickory Ridge Road (SR 1002), to SR 1013 / SR 2012 and PA 106. The detour will be in place until late August. (JV153)

In Thompson Township, the Bear Swamp Road (SR 1007) bridge will be closed where it crosses the South Branch of Canawachta Creek. This bridge was originally built in 1958 and averages 54 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all Bear Swamp Road traffic will detour to Layton Hill Road (SR 171), then to Church Lake Road (SR 1004). This detour will also be in place until late August. (JV151)

Pike - Week of July 6

In Shohola Township, the Woodtown Road (SR1007) bridge will be closed where it crosses Twin Lakes Creek. The bridge was originally built in 1958 and averages 118 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all Woodtown Road traffic will be detoured to Twin Lakes Road and Parkers Glen Road. The detour will be in place until mid-September. (JV142)

Wayne - Week of July 6

In Buckingham Township, drivers will see the Starlight Road (SR4033) bridge closed where it crosses Shehawken Creek. The bridge was originally built in 1934 and averages 225 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all Starlight Road traffic will be detoured to Crosstown Highway (SR 370), and Depot Hill Road (SR 4020). The detour will be in place until late August. (JV162)

Monroe

Week of July 13

In Chestnuthill Township, the SR 715 bridge will close where it crosses McMichaels Creek. The bridge was originally built in 1939 and averages 5,127 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all SR 715 traffic will detour to SR 115 and Effort Neil Road (SR 3018). The work is scheduled to be complete mid-September. (JV184)

In Tobyhanna Township, construction starts on the SR 940 bridge over Davey Run. This bridge was built in 1930, averages 5966 vehicles a day, and will be built in stages. This will allow one lane of traffic to remain open in each direction during construction. The work is scheduled to be complete in late October. (JV186)

Week of July 24 -

The SR 611 bridge will be closed where it crosses Tobyhanna Creek in Coolbaugh Township. The bridge, built in 1948 and averaging 4,650 vehicles a day, will also be built in stages. The work is scheduled to be complete in November. (JV183)

Schuylkill

Week of July 6

In Eldred Township, drivers will see the Creek Road (SR 4039) bridge closed where it crosses Mahantango Creek. The bridge was built in 1915 and averages 286 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all Creek Road traffic will be detoured to Taylorsville Mountain Road and Snyder Road. The detour will be in place until late August. (JV210)

Week of July 20

In North Union Township, the Catawissa Creek Road (PA 339) bridge will be closed where it crosses Catawissa Creek. This bridge was built in 1924 and averages 626 vehicles a day. Once the closure occurs all Catawissa Creek Road traffic will be detoured to Red Light Road (SR 4033) and Buck Mountain Road (SR 4038). The detour will be in place until early September. (JV204)

In Klingerstown, the Ridge Road (SR4016) crossing over Mahantango Creek will be closed. That bridge was built in 1930 and carries about 800 vehicles a day. Ridge Road traffic will be detoured to Boyer Road, Old State Road, and Klingerstown Road/Main Street. The detour is scheduled to be in place until early September. (JV208)
