Uniontown, PA – The reopening of the North 4th Street (PA 4007) bridge, spanning Bull Run in the City of Jeannette, Westmoreland County, will be delayed.

Construction started in late October and was anticipated to be complete in mid-January. However, due to construction delays at the bridge site, the new anticipated completion date is late February.

During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a car detour along East Gaskill Avenue, 14th Street and PA 30 (Harrison Avenue).

A truck detour will be implemented along PA 130 (Harrison Avenue), Oakford Park Road (PA 4003), Business Route 66 (Sheridan Road), US 119 (North Main Street), US 30 (Lincoln Highway), Agnew Road to Lewis Avenue (PA 4006) and Chambers Avenue (PA 4009).

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

This bridge is referred to as JV-558 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impacts on motorists.
