Construction of a new bridge on Lamor Road (Route 3020) in Jefferson Township, Mercer County, is complete and the road is open to traffic.

The bridge, which spans Lackawannock Creek, was constructed as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridge allows PennDOT to remove it from Mercer County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

The bridge reopened to traffic on Wednesday, August 9. Replacement work was performed by Thomas Construction, Inc. of Grove City, PA.

The new crossing is longer and wider than the one it replaced and is designed with a 100-year lifespan.

This bridge is referred to as JV-15 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
