Construction Rescheduled on North 4th Street (Route 4007) Bridge in the City of Jeannette

Westmoreland County Bridge to be replaced as part of Public-Private Partnership

Uniontown, PA – Construction for the North 4th Street (Route 4007) bridge, spanning Bull Run in the City of Jeannette, Westmoreland County, will begin on October 29.  It was previously scheduled to begin the week of October 22.

Construction is now expected to begin during the week of October 29 and be complete in mid-December. During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a car detour along East Gaskill Avenue, 14th Street and Route 130 (Harrison Avenue). A truck detour will be implemented along Oakford Park Road (Route 4003), Business Route 66 (Sheridan Road) and Route 130 (Harrison Avenue).

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

This bridge is referred to as JV-558 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impacts on motorists.
