The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project will soon begin in Lawrence County with the start of construction on the State Route 1012 (Frew Mill Road) bridge that spans Big Run in Slippery Rock Township.
Construction is expected to begin on September 12 with the closure of the bridge.
During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 388, Route 422 and Route 2013 (Mount Herman Church Road). Work will take approximately five weeks to complete.
The bridge was built in 1920 and averages 860 vehicles a day.
