The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project begins replacement work in Clinton County this month on a Route 477 (Long Run Road) bridge in Lamar Township. The bridge spans Long Run near the village of Salona. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Clinton County’s structurally deficient list. Replacement will also eliminate the current weight limit postings of 20-ton for single vehicles and 26-tons for combination vehicles.
Construction is expected to begin the week of September 12 with completion expected in early November. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 220 and Route 2008 (Auction Road).
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-47 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
