The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in Bedford County with the start of construction of the Route 30 bridge, which spans Shawnee Creek, in Napier Township.
The contractor, Clearwater Construction of Mercer, PA began off-alignment construction, on a temporary roadway that will be utilized during construction, this week. Traffic will be switched to the temporary roadway the week of Sept. 12. Completion of the project is expected in November.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-311 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
