Construction for the bridge carrying Aspers North Road (State Route 4006) over Opossum Creek in Menallen Township, Adams County, is scheduled to begin during the week of August 27 as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
When the bridge closes for full replacement, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Center Mills Road (State Route 4003), Route 34 (Carlisle Road) and Aspers-Bendersville Road.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
The bridge that carries Route 34 (Carlisle Road) over Opossum Creek in Menallen Township, currently closed for full replacement as part of PennDOT’s Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, will be open to traffic before work on the Aspers North Road bridge begins.
The Aspers North Road Bridge is referred to as JV-234 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
