Construction will begin later this month on a project to replace the Casanova Road Bridge in Centre County. Replacing the 79-year-old bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Centre County’s structurally deficient list.
The state-owned bridge is located on Township Road 958, spanning Moshannon Creek in Rush Township, near the Centre/Clearfield County line. Construction is expected to start in late July, with the closure of the bridge. During construction, drivers will be directed to a detour using T-958 (Casanova Road), Route 4009/Red Moshannon Bridge in Centre County, and Routes 2037 (Winburne Road) and 2035 (Maple Street) in Clearfield County. Work is expected to be complete by November.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, the work schedule may change.
