The Dooley Road (State Route 2028) bridge, spanning Scott Creek at the Delta Borough-Peach Bottom Township line in southeastern York County, will be closed for construction starting Monday, July 17, as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from York County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Closure of the bridge will not begin until after the 19th Annual Mason-Dixon Fair in Delta Borough, scheduled from July 10 to July 15. The bridge is anticipated to close during the week of July 17 and be complete in late September. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Main Street, Broad Street, Route 74 (Delta Road), and Line Road.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-301 and is one out of 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
