July 20, 2016

The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project begins in Northumberland County in August with the reconstruction of a bridge in Rockefeller Township. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Northumberland County’s structurally deficient list.

The state-owned bridge (JV123) is located on Route 4026 (Irish Valley Road), spanning Little Shamokin Creek. Construction is expected to begin in August and be complete in November. During this time, drivers will be detoured using State Route 890 and Cherry Street (State Route 4024) while the new bridge is replaced.

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
