Construction for a Route 144 (Pleasantview Boulevard) bridge, just north of Bellefonte, is scheduled to begin soon as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. The bridge spans Yokum Run in Spring Township, near Log Cabin Motors. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Centre County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Construction is expected to begin during the week of June 19 and be complete in mid-November. In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
During construction, traffic will move around the work zone using an alternating traffic pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals. During construction, Allegheny Street will be closed at the intersection of Pleasantview Boulevard with a detour using High Street, Route 150, and Route 144.
This P3 project is separate from PennDOT’s Route 144/Linn Street Wall project in Bellefonte.
This bridge is referred to as JV-27 and is one out of the 559 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
