Construction
for the Route 292 bridge, spanning Branch of Whitelock Creek in Northmoreland Township, Wyoming County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Wyoming County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Construction is expected to begin on Wednesday, July 26 and be completed in early-August. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Demunds Road (SR 2005), Old Mill Road (SR 2003), Orange Road and Brace Road. All truck traffic will be directed to follow a separate detour along Route 29, U.S. 6 and Route 92.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-165 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
