September 02, 2016

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in Columbia County in September with the reconstruction of a bridge in Madison Township. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Columbia County’s structurally deficient list.

The state-owned bridge is located on Route 44 (White Hall Road), spanning a tributary to Branch Chillisquaque Creek. Construction is expected to begin during the week of September 5 and be complete in November. During construction, drivers will be directed to a detour along Route 254, Route 1007 (Diehl Road) and Route 1002 (Strawberry Ridge Road).

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
