The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project continues in McKean County with the replacement of another Route 770 (W. Warren Road) bridge in Bradford Township. Replacing the bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from McKean County’s structurally deficient list.
This is the second of two bridges being replaced on W. Warren Road, spanning Sheppard Run, west of Custer City. Like the first bridge, this structure carries an average of almost 1,500 vehicles daily.
Construction is expected to start on September 19 and last for about five weeks. The bridge will be closed during reconstruction and a detour using Route 219 (South Avenue) and Route 59 (Mount Alton Road) will remain in place. A detour map is attached for reference.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-69 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
