Construction for the Route 86 (Main Street) bridge, spanning Gravel Run in Woodcock Borough, Crawford County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from the state’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Construction is expected to begin during the week of March 13 and be complete in early September. During the first two weeks of construction, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 198, Route 77, and Route 408. For the remainder of construction, alternating bi-directional traffic will be able to access the bridge site through the use of temporary traffic signals.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-006 and is one of 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
