Construction for the Southbound Ramp F (SR 8005) bridge, spanning Route 19 Northbound in Jackson Township, Butler County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Butler County’s structurally deficient list.
Construction is expected to begin during the week of March 27 and be complete in mid-June. During this time, access to Route 528 southbound will be closed and drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Little Creek Road (SR 3025) and Route 19. Periodically during construction, Route 19 northbound will be closed during non-peak traffic hours from 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. and drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 68 (East Grandview Avenue) and I-79.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-379 and is one of 559 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
