Construction for the Route 115 (Bear Creek Boulevard) bridge, spanning Little Shades Creek in Bear Creek Township, Luzerne County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
During the week of April 2, construction crews will begin installation of a temporary roadway. Motorists will begin to use the temporary bridge for travel around the work zone during the week of April 16. Construction of the new bridge is anticipated to be completed in August.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-140 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
