Construction for two Clearfield County bridges is scheduled to begin this month as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridges will allow PennDOT to remove them from Clearfield County’s structurally deficient bridge list.
Details on the projects are:
A Route 219 (Mahaffey-Grampian Highway) bridge, spanning Poplar Run near the village of Bells Landing, Greenwood Township (JV-39). Construction is expected to begin during the week of April 3 and being complete in late October.
A Route 219 (Mahaffey-Grampian Highway) bridge, spanning Bell Run near the village of Bells Landing, Greenwood Township (JV-40). Construction is expected to begin during the week of April 3 and being complete in late October.
During construction, an alternating traffic pattern will be controlled by temporary traffic signals. In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, these schedules may change.
These bridges are referred to as JV-39 and JV-40. They are two out of the 559 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
