Construction for two Palmer Road (Route 3013) bridges, spanning Middle Run in German Township, Fayette County, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of the bridges will allow PennDOT to remove them from Fayette County’s structurally deficient bridge list.

Construction for the bridge near Ball Hill Road (JV-562) is expected to begin during the week of August 14 and be complete in mid-October. During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 166 (Hartley Hill Road), Ralph Road (Route 4002) and Palmer Adah Road (Route 3013). Croushore Road (T-343) is a local road option included in the detour route. It will connect Palmer Adah Road (Route 3013) and Palmer Road (Route 3013).

Construction for the bridge near Coal Bucket Lane (JV-563) is expected to begin during the week of August 14 and be complete in mid-October. During construction, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Route 166 (Hartley Hill Road), Ralph Road (Route 4002) and Palmer Adah Road (Route 3013).

In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may change.

These bridges are referred to as JV-562 and JV-563. They are two out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
