Uniontown, PA – The construction of the new bridge carrying County Line Road (Route 1058) over Roaring Run in Saltlick Township, Fayette County, and Donegal Township, Westmoreland County, is scheduled to resume on Monday, May 6.
Traffic will follow an alternating pattern controlled by temporary traffic signals across the bridge until the replacement of a section of the deck on the north side of the structure is completed in early July.
Motorists should anticipate intermittent daytime lane closures for application of a polyester polymer concrete (PPC) overlay and for final asphalt paving in mid-to-late July. An alternating traffic pattern will be controlled by flaggers when the PPC overlay is applied and the final paving is placed. The bridge should be fully complete and open to traffic after the final paving application.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule is subject to change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-498 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
