Montoursville, PA – The bridge carrying Route 154 over Double Run in Forks Township, Sullivan County, that’s been under construction as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, opened to traffic today. Construction will be fully complete after crews return next week for final paving work.
Motorists should anticipate a daytime single lane traffic pattern through the work zone from 7:00 AM on Monday, April 15, to 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16. During this time, traffic will be reduced to one alternating travel lane controlled by flagging operations, for final paving and line stripping.
Replacement work for the bridge was performed by G. M. McCrossin Inc. of Bellefonte, PA.
The new crossing is longer and wider than the one it replaced and is designed with a 100-year lifespan.
his bridge is referred to as JV-127 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
