An article in the York Daily-Record reports that work will start Monday to reconstruct the Park Road bridge over the Codorus Creek in Manheim Township.
Traffic will be detoured to Mill Road, Sinsheim Road and Route 516, according to PennDOT.
Walsh Construction II is doing the work. The replacement is expected to be completed in September.
The Park Road span is the first of 15 bridges in York County that will be replaced as part of the state's Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, a news release states. It is part of public-private partnership between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners, and 558 bridges across the state will be replaced.
The bridge was built in 1925 and is classified as structurally deficient.
