The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is nearing completion on a bridge (JV103) on SR 487, crossing over Stony Brook Creek in Orange Township, Columbia County. Crews are finishing the roadway and bridge overlay before opening it to traffic.
Milling and paving operations on the approaches to the bridge will take place during the week of June 27, followed by installation of a protective surface overlay on the bridge deck during the week of July 4. In the event of unfavorable weather or other unforeseen activities, this schedule may change. Flaggers will be present during this time to assist in guiding traffic.
Motorists may encounter a bump after the milling and paving operations are complete, prior to the protective surface overlay is installed. Signage will be in-place to notify motorists of this condition.
The bridge was constructed in 2015 as part of the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. These are the final steps for completion of the bridge.
