October 18, 2016

Construction for the Englishman Hill Road (SR 1050) bridge, spanning Mounts Creek in Bullskin Township, will begin on October 24. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Fayette County’s structurally deficient list.

Construction will last for approximately 6 months. Englishman Hill Road (SR 1050) will remain open to traffic utilizing traffic signals to maintain alternating traffic throughout the project.

Built in 1935, the bridge averages 2,451 vehicles a day.

This bridge is referred to as JV-493 out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
