Construction for the bridge carrying Route 420 (Kedron Avenue) over Stony Creek in Ridley Township, Delaware County, scheduled to begin this week as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, has been rescheduled to begin on Monday, June 25.
When the bridge closes for full replacement next week, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Woodland Avenue, North Morton Avenue, South Morton Avenue, Route 2025, Macdade Boulevard (Route 2006). The new bridge is anticipated to open in late August.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-214 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
