A traffic pattern switch for phase two of construction on the Fisher Avenue (Route 4020) bridge, spanning Qureg Run at the eastern end of the Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Center in Union Township, Lebanon County, has been scheduled for the week of May 14. This bridge replacement is part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project.
During phase two of construction, motorists traveling on Fisher Avenue will continue to have one travel lane open in each direction through the work zone. Quartermaster Road will be closed south of Fisher Avenue. During this time, traffic will be detoured along Fisher Avenue to Biddle Road. The new bridge is anticipated to be complete in July.
In the event of unfavorable weather or unforeseen activities, this schedule may still change.
This bridge is referred to as JV-284 and is one out of the 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV references the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
